Abstract: Knowledge management as the management paradigm of knowledge society in the 21st century has started by a best-seller book entitled “The Knowledge-Creating Company,” which was authored and published by two Japanese scholars in 1995. Since then, it has been widespread into not only the business sectors but also the public and not-for-profit sectors, such as government, education, healthcare, etc. Behind its diffusion, a great driving force has been ICT (Information and Communication Technology) like groupware, intranet, database technology, the Internet, TV conference systems, and WEB technology. This paper argues the latest understanding and trend of knowledge management, and the role of WEB in those contexts.
