Abstract: The Japan Patent Office is striving for the examination which is the highest level of quality and quantity in the world. The number of filings in the world is increasing rapidly. Specially China's one is boosting. In order to reduce the business risk in the emerging market, retrieval and analysis of patent information are important. The affair of patent information specialists is becoming much difficult and much important. However, the number of patent information published only in special languages in emerging countries is increasing rapidly. Therefore it is important for the JPO and private companies to develop the retrieval system of the patent information.

Activity of intellectual property in near future intellectual property information mainly

Abstract: The economic crisis called the Lehman shock brought stagnation of the growth of the European and American market which was the source of the profit of the Japanese company and forced them to Innovation of the business strategy.
The number of domestic patent application was over a peak in 2001, and thereafter , continued a tendency to decrease. However, the number of world applications continues increasing led by rising nations. According to the results of 2010, it is estimated that the number of patent application to China exceeds that of Japan. To survive in the environment of a variety of culture, law systems and languages, we must develop processing ability for intellectual property information.

Intellectual property, for new business development

Abstract: Intellectual property activity is essential for the development of a new business and a new product. The collaboration and cooperation with the intellectual property division are indispensable for the business department. From an early phase of development to launch, various types of support by the IP specialists and information professionals are required. In particular, when we develop the IP strategy based on the business strategy, we hope that we receive adequate results of patent information analysis and suggestion for the IP strategy. In this paper, I discuss the expectation for patent activities and information professionals from the point of view of new business development section.

Abstract: If you have problems due to the collaborative work between researchers and the patent searcher? Where search plays a significant role in the Intellectual property (1) invalidity search, (2) freedom to operate search, (3) invention mining, (4) patent search to support early stage R&D, to the subject matter consider the problem.
This paper proposes one possible solution: the patentoriezon (the person in charge of making to the rights in the Intellectual Property Department) plays the role as "the interpreter" between researchers and patent searchers for more effective collaborate work.

Abstract: Intellectual Property Division manages and operates a library established in 2005 unifying libraries existed under each R&D Laboratories for each business department. While it functions as a corporate special library in general, the library, staffed with information specialists (librarians and information analysts), pursues to be business-oriented and rich in technical expertise and search .
