Abstract : We have studied whether or not the preprints prepared by the Medical Society are useful for collecting specific drug information, taking troglitazone as an example. Our conclusion is that since the reports that are made at the meetings of the Medical Society always provide valuable information on specific drugs, particularly on their safety, the preprints, a collection of such reports, can be used as an effective tool for collecting necessary drug information, if the purposes for which they are compiled and the limits of their availability are correctly understood.
